Veggie Nuggets with Mushroom Tempura

Crisp mushroom nuggets dipped in a spelt flour batter and fried until golden.

Ingredients

  • King oyster mushrooms
  • Spelt flour
  • Sea salt
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Grapeseed oil

Method

  1. Cut the king oyster mushrooms into nugget-size pieces.
  2. Mix spelt flour, water, sea salt, and cayenne pepper into a batter.
  3. Coat the mushroom pieces in the batter.
  4. Heat grapeseed oil in a pan.
  5. Fry the coated mushrooms until crisp and browned.
  6. Drain briefly and serve warm.
