Recommended Books About Dr. Sebi
In this quick post, I wanted to mention a few books and reading materials that have given me a lot of value.
Whether you’re just starting to get interested in Dr Sebi or you’re looking for more guidance, these books are all worth a look and are listed in no particular order.
The summary I give here really doesn’t do each book justice, so if you like the sound of something I’d suggest trying the “look inside” feature on Amazon.
Seven Days in Usha Village: A Conversation with Dr. Sebi
Beverly Oliver spends 7 days with Dr. Sebi and goes right back to the beginning, uncovering the transformation from Alfredo Bowman (a steam engineer) into the now world-renowned healer and icon, Dr. Sebi.
- Oliver, Beverly (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 140 Pages - 09/15/2007 (Publication Date) - Dr. Sebi's Office, Inc. (Publisher)
This book is a fairly light read and is presented in a question and answer interview style.
If you haven’t picked up a book in a while (be honest), I’d probably go with this one first. Not necessarily because it’s “the best”, but because it’s so easy to digest.
If you prefer to listen, there is an audible version that is available for free I believe (if you don’t yet have an audible account).
My Journey with Dr. Sebi
A truly captivating read written by Abelardo Guerrero Jr., whom after “walking and talking” with Dr. Sebi during his lecture circuit and elsewhere has been rewarded with some amazing insight into his life and thoughts on health.
- Guerrero Jr., Abelardo (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 226 Pages - 07/19/2019 (Publication Date) - Mr. G Books, Inc (Publisher)
This book shares everything – how Dr. Sebi went about seeking healing for himself, where he traveled, who he turned to and how he discovered his ultimate purpose as “the messenger”.
Along with Seven Days in Usha Village, I’d highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to get more of an idea of who Dr. Sebi was, what he believed and the types of things he discussed with students.
Alkaline Herbal Medicine: Reverse Disease and Heal the Electric Body
If you’re looking for practical knowledge on how to follow an alkaline vegan diet as well as the herbs Dr. Sebi used and their healing properties, this is probably one of the best books out there.
Written by Aqiyl Aniys, who for the betterment of his own health adopted a diet based on Dr. Sebi’s teachings. He has since gone on to publish three books and instruct countless others on the benefits of an alkaline vegan diet.

Mucusless Diet Healing System
Professor Arnold Ehret was a German philosopher, naturopath and alternative health educator born in 1866.
He is most famous for developing the Mucusless Diet Healing System (this book).
The system and the opinions expressed by Prof. Ehret have a lot in common with the teachings of Dr. Sebi, especially surrounding the underlying cause of disease (where mucus-forming foods are concerned), the colon as well as Ehret’s views on fasting.
- Arnold Ehret (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 198 Pages - 11/09/2013 (Publication Date) - Ehret Literature Publications (Publisher)
Please note that while there are similarities that can be drawn between this system and Dr. Sebi’s teachings, there are also differences… The foods that are permitted and recommended by Ehret, for example, are not on the approved food list set by Dr. Sebi.
That said, the book is an interesting read and considering that it was written over 100 years ago, it’s clear that Prof. Ehret was way ahead of his time.
Since being published shortly after Ehret’s suspicious death at the age of 56, The Mucusless Diet Healing System has gone on to inspire countless others into researching and building on Prof. Ehret’s body of work.
Mucusless Diet Healing System: Annotated, Revised, and Edited by Prof. Spira
If you want something more up to date or prefer audiobooks, consider the revised version of The Mucusless Diet Healing System (paperback, kindle, or audiobook).
- Amazon Kindle Edition
- Ehret, Arnold (Author)
- English (Publication Language)
- 247 Pages - 11/15/2014 (Publication Date) - Mucus-free Life LLC (Publisher)
Did Dr. Sebi write a book himself?
Unfortunately, Dr. Sebi didn’t write any books (that we know of) he did, however, create the Intra-Cellular Cleansing guide as well as the original nutritional guide which the current food list is based around (Dr. Sebi’s office have since added/removed a few things).
